Terms of Use

These terms apply to your use of Cerritos Residents Directory. Accessing or using the pages means you accept these conditions. If you do not agree, please leave the service and do not use its links or search tools.

1. The Nature of This Reference

Cerritos Residents Directory is a private reference service. It describes and links to the Los Angeles County Assessor Portal, the county RR/CC deed index, Cerritos public-record channels, library collections, and other government portals related to Cerritos, Los Angeles County, and California. It does not host government records and has no affiliation with a city, county, state, court, library, or records custodian.

The Cerritos City Clerk request page is an example of a custodian route; the office holding a record controls its access, correction, and certification.

2. Acceptable and Prohibited Use

Use the pages only for lawful purposes. You may not use the service or any information reached through it to:

  • Stalk, harass, intimidate, threaten, or harm another person
  • Locate a person protected by a restraining or protective order
  • Commit identity theft, fraud, or another unlawful act
  • Make an FCRA-regulated decision about credit, employment, housing, insurance, or a tenant
  • Scrape, copy, or republish the pages at scale
  • Disrupt the service, defeat its security, or misuse its forms

3. No Consumer Reporting Function

This service is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 U.S.C. section 1681 et seq. Nothing on these pages, and nothing returned by a linked search tool, is a consumer report. It may not be used to decide eligibility for credit, employment, housing, insurance, tenant screening, or another purpose regulated by the FCRA.

4. External Websites and Tools

Los Angeles County, Cerritos, California, library, archive, and third-party portals publish their own rules. Sponsored search tools likewise belong to their providers. Cerritos Residents Directory does not control an outside site's content, uptime, fees, privacy practice, or returned data.

5. Information Without Warranties

The service is offered “as is” and “as available.” No warranty is made that a page, link, fee, office detail, record description, or search result is accurate, complete, current, or available at any particular time.

6. Liability Limits

To the fullest extent allowed by law, the operators are not responsible for direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or similar damages arising from the pages or an outside resource, including an action taken from a record found through a link.

7. Your Responsibility to Indemnify

You agree to defend and hold the service operators harmless from claims, losses, demands, and reasonable attorney fees arising from your unlawful use, misuse of a record, or violation of these terms.

8. Copyright and Site Materials

The original writing, design, logo, and layout belong to the service and are protected by copyright. Linking to a page and quoting a short attributed excerpt is welcome. Full-page republication and systematic copying are not permitted.

9. Future Changes

These terms may be revised by posting a replacement version here. Continued use after the revised text appears means that the updated terms are accepted.

10. Restricting Access

The operators may block or limit access without advance notice when a user violates these terms, abuses a form, or threatens the service's operation or security.

11. California Law

California law governs these terms without applying conflict-of-law principles. The California Public Records Act, Government Code sections 7920.000-7931.000, controls requests to California and local custodians, not records held by this private reference. The California Consumer Privacy Act and California Privacy Rights Act may apply to covered businesses and data practices as described in the Privacy Policy.

12. If a Term Fails

If a court finds one provision unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect to the extent the law permits.
